Netflix Stalling Release of Sussexes’ Docuseries, Says Royal Expert

The couple had reportedly wanted to postpone the series following the Queen's death to avoid appearing insensitive.

However, Sean disputed these claims, stating that Netflix was behind the decision to stall the release.

Speaking on Fox Business in the US, Sean said that there just wasn't enough content yet.

He explained that while there was footage from the Invictus Games in the Netherlands and a bit from New York, they weren't allowed to use footage from the Queen's state funeral.

Sean added that the couple had only provided a little bit from when they came over for the Platinum Jubilee.

He concluded that it had nothing to do with cutting unsavoury remarks about King Charles III and Queen Consort , as had been previously reported.

Sources had told Page Six in the US that Harry and Meghan were trying to delay the release until 2023.

This move was similar to Harry's decision to delay the release of his memoir with Penguin Random House.

One source had suggested that the couple wanted to shelve the project altogether, while an insider from Netflix claimed that there was a lot of pressure on the CEO to get the show finished.

Meanwhile, reports in the Mail on Sunday claimed that palace aides were discussing ways to prevent from publishing his memoir.

There were concerns that the book would contain damaging revelations despite suggestions that Harry was seeking to tone it down in the wake of the Queen's death.

Uchwell Productions, the company created by the Sussexes last year, is dedicated to creating Netflix content.

Heart of Invictus is one of those projects, which focuses on the Prince's Invictus Games as athletes prepared for the event.

It was announced in April 2020 that Harry and Meghan had signed the Netflix deal, but to date, they have yet to release a completed product.

Pearl, another project under Uchwell Productions, was cancelled amid a dip in subscribers experienced by the streaming giant.

However, this cancellation did not appear to have affected other productions.

The Mail on Sunday suggested that the entire entertainment industry is being dragged down the same rabbit hole.
