Piers Morgan Teases Return to Good Morning Britain Following Contact from ITV Bosses

Former Good Morning Britain host, Piers Morgan, has claimed that he has been approached by ITV bosses regarding a return to the breakfast show he hosted for five years.

The presenter famously quit the programme in March following the fallout of comments he made about the Duchess of Sussex following her bombshell interview with .

At the time, it was reported that Meghan got in touch with the network to complain about the remarks.

The 39-year-old wife of had opened up about having suicidal thoughts during her first pregnancy among other things.

Piers later clarified his comments on mental health but refused to apologise for saying that he didn't believe what the Royal had said during her interview and left the show the next day.

The Life Stories host, who is currently on gardening leave from GMB, has since teased a comeback to the programme.

He warned Meghan that she was in for a big shock as he had not been cancelled during a new interview.

Piers pointed out that he is more popular than ever and so viewers could see him back alongside his former co-host Susannah Reid in the near future.

“She, Meghan, thinks she's beaten me.

She might be in for a surprise because I suspect I'll be back soon,” the 56-year-old told MailOnline.

“And my views certainly haven't changed.

If Meghan thinks she has cancelled me or won the battle, she is in for a big shock.

I've never been more popular,” he added.

Meanwhile, Piers told The Sun that ITV bosses wanted him back amid a drop in ratings following his departure.

He said a third party had got in touch to see if he would consider a return to the show.

“As the Americans say, they reached out, there have been approaches to test the water in the wake of their obvious ratings issues,” he said.

The former newspaper editor continues to work for the network fronting his chat show series Life Stories.

Last night, Piers took to social media and joked that he had put a call into ITV after fans called for his return.

He made his comments after almost missing his flight home from Edinburgh after a golfing trip.

“Thanks so much to the three delightful ladies from at British Underscore Airways at Edinburgh Airport who let us on our flight home when we turned up late.

On strict condition that I return immediately to Good Morning Britain.

P's I've put a call into ITV,” he continued.

Many took to the comments section of his post to share their thoughts on the matter with many wanting to see him back on TV screens.

“Come back not the same without you,” one follower remarked.
