Prince Charles and Prince Harry’s relationship may never be the same again, according to a former royal employee.
Grant Harrold, who served as a butler to the Prince of Wales, spoke to Channel 5 documentary Charles and Harry, Father and Son Divided, about the bond between the two royals.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's decision to step back from the monarchy at the start of 2020 has reportedly caused tension between the father and son.
Mr Harrold, who witnessed the loving bond that the two once shared, said that the damage has been done and it can never be like that again.
Royal author Tom Quinn also commented on the chances of reconciliation between the two.
He stated that the gulf between Harry and Charles has widened considerably and that it would be challenging to bridge the divide in the future.
Harry himself has spoken publicly about his relationship with his father, revealing during his interview with Oprah Winfrey that Charles had stopped taking his calls after he and Meghan expressed their desire to step down.

Although they eventually reconnected, Harry warned that there is a lot to work through there.
Gayle King, a US TV host, gave an update after the interview aired, sharing that Harry had been in contact with his brother and father.
However, she described the conversations as not productive.
Recently, while appearing on the Armchair Expert podcast, the Duke of Sussex opened up about his upbringing in the royal family.
He acknowledged the difficult childhood that Charles had growing up with a very distant mother and father and how this may have affected his own parenting skills.
He also spoke strongly about wanting to break the cycle of genetic pain.
It is clear that the relationship between Prince Charles and Prince Harry has changed significantly.
The once-loving, caring, and fun relationship that Harrold knew is seemingly lost, and it may never be like that again.
