Prince Charles Hurt by Harry’s Attacks and Meghan Markle’s Treatment
Prince Charles was hurt by Prince Harry's constant attacks after he advocated for Meghan Markle to join the royal family.
According to reports, the Prince of Wales wanted to issue a response to refute his son's claims after the Sussexes' interview with Oprah.
However, it was decided that a shorter statement would be better to avoid more damaging repercussions.
The palace eventually issued a brief 61-word statement that acknowledged the challenges faced by Harry and Meghan in the past few years.
It also addressed the issue of race, which was raised during the interview, and promised to address it privately.
The statement ended by saying that Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be much-loved family members.

Earlier reports claimed that Prince Charles had banned his grandson, Archie, from ever receiving the title of Prince and cut the Sussex children out of the line of succession.
This restriction also meant that they would not receive any financial support or security.
Harry and Meghan were reportedly horrified by the news, and their relationship with Charles was effectively ruined.
More recently, the Globe reported that Prince Charles planned to cut Prince Harry out of his $150 million will, strip him of his royal titles, and cut him out of the line of succession.
An insider claimed that this move was all in retaliation against Harry for his recent comments about the royals.
The outlet also maintained that Charles had the Queen's blessing for this decision.
Additionally, an insider has claimed that Prince Charles could deny Meghan Markle and Prince Harry a major royal perk following their departure from the firm.
It is said that, when Prince Charles becomes king, Meghan and Harry are expected to miss out on living in Clarence House, where Prince Charles currently resides.
The Mail on Sunday reports that the Sussexes' departure to California means Clarence House is now no longer on the cards.
It is more likely to be saved for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, or Prince Louis.
Prince Charles became very fond of Meghan when she and Harry were dating.
He used to call her Tungsten, a nickname that matched the strength and determination she displayed.
Meghan was also credited with helping bring Charles and Harry closer.
However, Harry's actions since stepping down have been particularly hurtful to Charles since he was quite an advocate for Meghan at the start.
He walked her down the aisle and thought it was good for Harry to have a strong woman by his side.
According to royal historian and author of Battle of Brothers Robert Lacey, Charles feels things deeply, and Harry's actions must be particularly wounding to him.
Lacey opined that the animus to publicly wound his father in a way that was not necessary would likely be very upsetting to Charles.
It is clear that Prince Charles is hurt by Prince Harry's attacks and the treatment of Meghan Markle.
The rift between the two has widened since the Oprah interview, and it remains to be seen whether they can reconcile in the future.
