Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Recent Whinge-A-Thon Leads to Dwindling Support in the US

and were recently mocked on Saturday Night Live during an opening monologue by comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been in the news lately, accusing the British media of racism and describing their difficulty in dealing with the paparazzi.

They also claimed there was unconscious racial bias in the royal family.

During the opening three episodes of their long-awaited Netflix docuseries, Harry and Meghan triggered a backlash, including after Meghan re-enacted an exaggerated curtsy she said she performed on first meeting II, comparing her perception of the royal tradition to medieval times.

During the opening monologue, Steve Martin and Martin Short celebrated Steve's staggering 16 times hosting the show compared to Martin's slightly less impressive three.

Martin then remarked, “you know Steve, we're like Harry and Meghan, no one's rooting for us but you'll tune in to watch anyway.”

Short then targeted Martin, joking that the cast of the show loves him and praises him behind his back for being a whole entertainer.

Even so, Martin was right to call out how many viewers have tuned in to see the series despite not necessarily supporting the Sussexes.

It's the latest jibe on Saturday Night Live after Colin Jost poked fun at the Sussexes during a discussion about Elon Musk buying Twitter in April 2022.

Come on, Elon built electric cars Jost said, he's going to Mars.

Why is he even involving himself with Twitter?

It would be like if the Prince of England gave it all up just to marry an actor from Suits.

Harry and 's recent whinge-a-thon has led to dwindling support in the US according to a royal author who's just returned from a trip stateside.

Valentin Lowe, back in the UK after promoting his new book about the royal family, has said conversations on the ground support polling data indicating Americans are growing tired of the Sussex narrative.

“I get the impression having been in the states they've lost some of that popularity,” he said, describing their accounts of life in the firm as a whinge-a-thon.

Recent polling supports his observations.

2000 eligible US voters were polled six days after the publication of 's memoir Spare which contains a number of bombshell revelations about royal life.

The Duke's favorability rating dropped 45 points from 38 in December to minus 7 in January.

Overall, 44% of Americans surveyed in the Newsweek poll said they felt Harry shouldn't have revealed private family conversations compared with 26% who backed the Prince's decision.

Meghan didn't fare much better.

She was found to be considerably less popular than Queen Consort even after Harry's criticism of his stepmother in the book.

After the release of the memoir, Harry's been facing a lot of challenges regarding the authenticity of his account.

While many royalists called out the Duke for falsely representing the facts, others blamed him for not keeping things private.

Recently, a royal author named Angela Levin accused the Duke of Sussex of being a bully over the last two years.

Along with his love story with Meghan Markle, the Duke revealed many details about the royal family in Spare.

He openly mocked the staff members of the royal palace as well.

Amidst the accusations, Levin expressed her feelings about the memoir.

During a conversation, Levin revealed the Prince has overstepped the mark as he accused the royal family in his memoir.

She went on to say, “this all comes from a man who's known for guarding his own privacy.”

The royal author found it surprising that the one who prefers privacy revealed the private matters of home in his memoir.

She accused him of behaving like a bully just to get revenge against the royal family.

Previously, she also wrote in an op-ed about King Charles being in a difficult position.
