Princess Beatrice Appointed as Councillor of State Following Queen’s Death

The unexpected death of II has brought about significant changes in the British monarchy.

One of the most notable changes is the appointment of as councillor of state, a crucial role that allows her to deputize for the new king, Charles, should the need arise.

As the eldest daughter of disgraced royal , Beatrice is now second in line to the throne, behind William, after Charles ascended to the throne.

Before the Queen's death, Charles, William, Harry, and Andrew held the esteemed position of councillor of state, enabling them to perform the monarch's duties temporarily if she was unable due to illness or absence abroad.

However, with Charles now king, it means Beatrice is number four on the list, not including Queen consort who can also act in his majesty's absence.

The councillors of state are William, Harry, Andrew, Queen consort , and the next person in line over the age of 21, which is Beatrice.

In her new position, Beatrice will be authorized to carry out most of the official duties of the sovereign, including attending privy council meetings, signing routine documents, and receiving the credentials of new ambassadors to the UK.

She will not be delegated Commonwealth matters, nor be able to create peers, appoint prime ministers, or dissolve parliament, unless under the king's instruction.

Beatrice, who gave birth to her first child Sienna last year, is married to Edoardo Mappelli Mozzi.

The couple married in private due to the Covid pandemic in July 2020.

With the Queen's passing, Beatrice is now ninth in line to the throne, making her daughter Sienna tenth in line.

Despite her new role, Beatrice has yet to make a public statement on the Queen's death.

However, her husband Edoardo Mappelli Mozzi posted a tribute to the Queen's reign on Instagram.

He shared several photos of her majesty as well as a heart-warming tribute message, saying “Incredibly hard to process the last 24 hours.

What an incredible woman and extraordinary mark she's left on the entire world.

She was the rock on which modern Britain was built.

Feeling very lucky that our little ones got to spend wonderful time with her this summer.

Rest in peace your majesty.

We will miss you so much.

Broken hearted.”

Meanwhile, was seen arriving at Scotland Castle to see his beloved grandmother one last time.

The Duke of Sussex was the last royal to join his family at the venue, where the monarch passed away peacefully.

Harry came straight from London, unaccompanied by wife .

Elder brother , father King Charles III, and uncles and Edward were already by the Queen's side by the time Harry arrived.

The couple also paid tribute to the Queen on their Archule website homepage, which read “In loving memory of Her Majesty II 1926 to 2022.”

The Queen was truly loved and respected by many, and her passing marks the end of an era for the British monarchy.
