Princess Catherine Wishes England’s Red Roses Good Luck in Rugby World Cup
Princess Catherine, also known as the Princess of Wales, has been keeping busy since the passing of her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, last month.
On Thursday, the princess joined her husband in Northern Ireland, Wales, and the day before she visited the Royal Surrey County Hospital maternity unit.
Her Royal Highness also shared a special video greeting for the England rugby team on Friday, her first video message since taking on the title of Princess of Wales on September 8, after the death of the Queen.
As a patron of England rugby, the princess expressed her optimism that the Red Roses would bring the cup home once more after their victory in 2014.
The clip was uploaded on the England Rugby Twitter account, with the princess wearing a red Zara tweed jacket to show her support.
In February, it was announced that the princess would take over the position previously held by her brother-in-law Prince Harry as patron of the Rugby Football League and the Rugby Football Union.

She has always had a passion for sports and has played tennis and ice hockey since she was a child.
She also supports rugby and used to watch England games with the Middleton family before marrying Prince William in 2011.
The Red Roses will face Fiji in their opening match of the competition, which begins tomorrow and lasts through Saturday, November 12.
To wish them good luck, the princess reused the blazer she wore to cheer England's men's football team during the Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium and wore a beautiful red brooch on her lapel.
”Hello everyone,” the princess stated in the message.
”I wanted to take a moment to wish the Red Roses all the very best of luck for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
I had so much fun with you all at Twickenham earlier this year and I cannot wait to see how you get on during the tournament.
For many of the team, this will be the first World Cup you've played in.
Congratulations on being selected for the squad.
I know this will be a particularly proud moment in your careers so far, and I hope you enjoy every minute.
I was also delighted to hear that some of the winning squad from 2014 are back to help bring the Cup home again.
Good luck for the weeks ahead.
I'll be setting my alarm clock early to cheer you on all the way.”
The video was captioned, ”A special good luck message for the hashtag Red Roses from our patron the Princess of Wales.”
It tagged the princess's official social media account in the tweet and called the England women hashtag Team Dream.
Catherine mentioned her delightful trip to Twickenham in February this year when she trained with the players and giggled as she ducked and weaved her way across the pitch in her greeting to the team.
The honoree Red Rose even practiced a line-out and was pictured being lifted up to catch the ball by her teammates.
After her brother-in-law Prince Harry stood down as a senior royal, the Princess of Wales took over as patron of England rugby.
Competitive Catherine appeared happy to be filling in for her brother-in-law and grinned, laughed, and smiled her way through the drills, which were overseen by head coach Eddie Jones.
In conclusion, Princess Catherine has been keeping busy with her royal duties and showed her support for England's Red Roses in the Rugby World Cup by sharing a special video message.
