Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank Cancel Baby’s Christening Due to COVID-19
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have cancelled the christening of their first child, August, due to a positive COVID-19 test result from one of the attendees.
The ceremony was supposed to take place on Saturday at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor Great Park, with less than 30 people invited before a reception at Royal Lodge.
The Queen, who is August's great-grandmother, was scheduled to attend the ceremony and after-party along with other members of the Royal Family.
The cancellation was made after a guest tested positive or was pinged for Covid contact, according to a source who spoke to The Sun.
As a result, they called off the service and reception party afterwards at Royal Lodge, Prince Andrew's home.
Princess Eugenie's parents, Fergie and Prince Andrew, had also been due to attend.

August, who was born on February 9th at the Portland Hospital in London, is the 12th in line to the throne.
Since his birth, mother Eugenie has been sharing cute photos of the child on social media.
One on Mother's Day showed the tot lying on a blanket in a field of daffodils, fluffy bunny slippers on his feet.
Eugenie captioned it, “I'm so excited to be August's mum and as you can see I'm enjoying my first Mother's Day.”
In February, the Express reported that Eugenie and Jack were planning to have August christened in a replica of a 160-year-old gown.
Both the Queen and Prince Charles wore it for their christenings in 1926 and 1948, respectively.
Due to wear and tear, the Royal Family stopped using the gown in 2004.
However, the Queen reportedly commissioned a replica one and Royal babies have worn it ever since.
The christening was supposed to be a private affair, with only close family members and friends invited.
The cancellation is a reminder that the pandemic remains a threat, even to the Royal Family.
With the Delta variant spreading rapidly in the UK, caution is still necessary.
Princess Eugenie's decision to share photos of August on social media has been met with praise from fans who appreciate the glimpse into the Royal Family's private life.
However, the cancellation of the christening is a reminder that the Royals are not immune to the pandemic.
It is unclear when the christening will be rescheduled, but it is likely that the Royal Family will wait until it is safe to gather again.
