Queen and Prince Philip Reunite for Second UK Lockdown

The Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, are set to reunite in order to form a bubble during the second lockdown in the United Kingdom.

The couple has been living apart since early October when the Queen returned to Windsor Castle by herself following the annual royal break in Balmoral.

However, the Queen returned to Windsor Castle for work this month.

At 94 and 99 years old, respectively, the Queen and Prince Philip are both in a high-risk category for the virus.

Despite this, they have managed to avoid contracting coronavirus, unlike their son and grandson , who both contracted it but have since recovered.

During the coronavirus pandemic, the Queen and Prince Philip spent time together by isolating and managed to have a small break away from royal duties in August.

They spent time at their Balmoral estate in Scotland and were able to see family members, including Prince Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank and the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

Prince Philip will leave his residence at Sandringham, where he has been quarantining during this difficult period, and will be going into the Queen's HMS Bubble.

This will allow them to spend time together during the second lockdown as well as spend their 73rd wedding anniversary, which is on November 20th, together.

A Royal Insider has informed the press that Philip is keen to spend his anniversary with the Queen and that they spent seven months together in HMS Bubble due to Covid-19 this year and have only been apart for a few weeks now.

The royal couple is set to spend their wedding anniversary in Windsor Castle, which means that the staff at Sandringham and Windsor are forming part of the HMS Bubble, and the staff at Sandringham will have a chance to have a small break from duties.

However, the Queen is set to leave the nation on the emotional Remembrance Sunday, and Prince Philip will not attend the Cenotaph ceremony.

While the United Kingdom's second lockdown is only set for four weeks, the government cannot promise that it will end by early December.

This might mean that the Queen will have to spend Christmas inside Windsor Castle rather than in Buckingham Palace.

The Queen has not spent Christmas in Windsor Castle in 33 years, and the royal couple may have to stay there for the foreseeable future and perform their royal duties virtually.

For health and safety reasons, the Queen has made Windsor Castle her home base rather than Buckingham Palace and only has a small number of household staff to prevent contracting the virus and for the safety of her employees.

Furthermore, royal observers have suggested that the royal couple will not be returning to Buckingham Palace until 2021.

The royal couple's plan for Christmas has not been solidified, but it is likely that they will change due to the pandemic.
