Queen’s Corgis Mauled Meghan Markle’s Singing Toy Hamster
Meghan Markle, the newly engaged American actress, had the daunting task of buying a Christmas present for the Queen.
It has now been revealed that she got her future grandmother-in-law a singing toy hamster, which the Queen's prize corgis went on to maul to pieces.
The Daily Star reported that the Queen was so happy with the present that she burst out laughing before remarking, “It can keep my dogs company.”
According to a source, Meghan bought a little hamster that sings with a little rope for Her Majesty.
The source said, “It was so funny, especially when the corgis tried to take hold of the toy.”
The royal family exchange presents on Christmas Eve as a nod to their German lineage, and it is believed that they give each other jokey gifts as they already have everything they could ever want or need.

The source also revealed that the royal family has a traditional way of arranging their presents.
They said, “The gifts were on trestle tables in the white drawing room where the names were at each table for each family.”
While Meghan may have impressed with her gift, it seems she won't be getting the chance to wear any of the crown jewels just yet.
Strict etiquette rules prohibit unmarried women from wearing tiaras, like the ones Kate Middleton is frequently spotted sporting, and thus Meghan won't be allowed to pop on a mini-crown of her own until after she says “I do” to Prince Harry.
“This spring, flashy diamonds and tiaras are not worn during the day, and only married ladies wear tiaras,” etiquette expert Grant Harrold told the BBC.
“For married ladies, it was a sign of status and would show you were taken and not looking for a husband,” he continued.
“For the gentlemen, it was a clear sign not to make advances toward the lady in question.”
