In 2019, Sir Rod made headlines when he criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for not spending Christmas in the UK.
He lamented that he flew around the world to be with his parents during the holidays because he knew they didn't have many left.
He added that if he were Harry, he would have thought there was plenty of time in the future to spend Christmas with Meghan's mother.
Meghan and Harry opted to spend Christmas with the Duchess Mother Doria instead.
A spokesperson for the couple said that they were looking forward to extended family time towards the end of the month.
They also explained that after spending the last two Christmases at Sandringham, they wanted to spend the holidays as a new family with Doria Ragland.
Meanwhile, TV psychic Deborah Davis claimed that Meghan Markle has no intention of reconciling with her royal in-laws.
According to Davis, the Duchess of Sussex has no interest in building bridges with the royal family, following several blistering attacks on them.
Since stepping down as senior working royals last year, Meghan's relationship with her royal in-laws has been under strain.
The mother-of-two, who resides in California with her family, has not returned to the UK since quitting the royal job.
However, her husband, Prince Harry, has visited twice on important occasions.
Davis also claimed that Meghan is bitter and resentful towards Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.
She believes that the penny will eventually drop with Harry, but it will take time before he sees what has happened.
Davis added that she thinks Meghan is a very good actress and that she had Harry conned just like the rest of the royal family.
According to royal experts, Meghan and Harry's interviews with Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres have worsened the crisis and given the impression that the Sussexes have no intention of making peace with the royal family.
Meghan was recently spotted on a solo shopping trip in Montecito, which sparked new debate on social media.
In 2020, the Christmas situation was further complicated by the pandemic and the Sussexes' decision to leave royal duties.
Despite this, the Royal Family has continued to carry out their duties, including attending the Royal Variety performance, which has become a beloved tradition in the UK.
In conclusion, Sir Rod Stewart's criticism of Harry and Meghan's Christmas decision has once again put the spotlight on the couple's strained relationship with the Royal Family.
As the world awaits the Royal Variety performance, it remains to be seen whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be able to reconcile with their in-laws.
