The exciting royal update came just after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took to their social media platforms to share a special Easter message.

Unfortunately, the Queen was not in attendance at this event, after missing the Maundy Thursday service.

It was expected that she would miss Easter Sunday service at Windsor due to ongoing mobility problems and catching Covid-19.

Instead, she is expected to mark the day at a small chapel in Windsor Castle.

Royal biographer Angela Levin told Sky News that the Queen has her own very small chapel within Windsor Castle and she suspects she will go there.

It is thought that the Queen is avoiding frequent royal engagements in order to save her strength for her upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

A royal source told the Daily Mail, “The assumption must now be that the Queen will not be present at events.

If Her Majesty does attend, it will be decided on the day and she will be accompanied by another member of the royal family.”

Royal expert Robert Jobson claimed that the mother and son are currently acting as a dual monarchy, with also taking on a significant role in supporting the Queen.

Although the Queen did not attend the service this year, it was a special moment for her great-grandchildren who attended for the first time.

The Royal Family continues to make appearances and fulfill their duties despite health concerns and changing circumstances.
