According to a royal fan, it was ironic that Meghan did not attend the match, as she would have absorbed all the oxygen in the room due to her beauty and philanthropic endeavors.

To make it safe and fair like Nelson, she sacrificed her attendance.

Apparently, Serena thought Meghan Markle was bad luck and cost her a few wins.

Despite being best friends, some people have criticized Meghan for having a headline-generating interview released on the same day as Serena's guaranteed tennis match.

Sunrise host Natalie Barr even labeled Meghan Markle as a “tosser” in an extraordinary on-air rant after Markle compared herself to Nelson Mandela in her new interview with the Cup magazine.

“‘Tosser' is a mildly insulting slang term in Australia for an obnoxious person.”

In her interview, Meghan claimed that when she and Harry asked for what they did during Megxit negotiations, it was not reinventing the wheel, as other senior royals have been granted similar arrangements.

Angela Levin, author of Harry, Conversations with the Prince, appeared on GB News and described the Duchess' arrogance as breathtaking.

Levin told Colin Brazier that Meghan's attitude was “breathtaking, her arrogance and rudeness and her taking everything for granted and not giving anything back.”

She also criticized the Duchess of Sussex for not visiting his grandmother amid the ongoing row over his security detail.

“I think it's a tragedy that she has convinced Harry that his family is so awful,” she added.

Despite all the drama surrounding Meghan Markle, Serena Williams' farewell match was a huge success, and the tennis star will surely be missed by fans around the world.

The match drew an impressive crowd of celebrities, and Williams put on a great performance to start her final US Open campaign.

While Meghan's absence may have disappointed some fans, it did not detract from the excitement of the day.
