Zara Tindall Gives Birth To Baby Boy During Unexpected Bathroom Delivery

Zara Tindall, the eldest granddaughter of the Queen and Prince Philip, has given birth to a baby boy in an unexpected bathroom delivery.

The baby's father, Mike Tindall, confirmed that their son, Lucas Philip Tindall, was born on Sunday evening at 6 o'clock on the bathroom floor of their family home on Princess Anne's Gloucestershire estate.

The baby weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces, and Zara's friend Dolly helped give birth to the tot.

Mike Tindall, who shares daughters Mia 7 and Lena 2 with his wife, shared the news on his podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby, and hailed Zara as a warrior.

The former England rugby legend told hosts Alex Payne and James Haskill, “‘Sunday got even better because a little baby boy arrived at my house.”

He explained how the baby arrived so quickly that they didn't even have time to get to the hospital, meaning his wife had to give birth on the bathroom floor.

Fortunately, Zara's friend Dolly was present and recognized that they wouldn't have made it to the hospital on time.

Mike told how after snipping the cord and enjoying some skin-to-skin contact, he took his new son straight downstairs to watch sport on TV.

He added, “‘I literally was like, yep, snip, snip, I've got this, my boy, I'm out, I'm out of here.

The best thing about being at home was the best thing, as soon as he's wrapped up, you're skin-to-skin, straight downstairs, TV room, golf on, and I was like, this is what me and you are doing.”

Mike had previously revealed he would like to have a boy.

In December, he announced his wife's pregnancy on his podcast, The Good, The Bad, and The Rugby, telling his co-hosts, “‘It's been a good week for me.

Had a little scan last week, third tindle on its way.

I'd like a boy this time.

I've got two girls.

I would like a boy.

I'll love it whether a boy or girl, but please be a boy.”

The Tindalls got married on 20th July 2011, at Cannon Gate Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland.

A reception took place later in the evening at Holyrood House.

The wedding was attended by senior members of the Royal Family, including the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and .

Proud father Mike Tindall shared that he and Zara would be keeping the baby's gender a surprise.

“‘It was always an interesting question whether we'd go for a third, and I think both of us wanted a boy, so hopefully we'll get one,' he said.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the birth of Zara's third child, which the couple have chosen to name Lucas Philip Tindall.

In a statement, the Palace said, “‘Zara and Mike Tindall are happy to announce the birth of their third child, Lucas Philip Tindall, born on Sunday 21st March 2021, weighing 8lbs 4oz.'

Baby Lucas Philip Tindall is the Queen and Prince Philip's tenth great-grandchild and is 22nd in line to the throne, with their ninth, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, being born to on February 9th.

The baby's adorable name is said to be a sweet tribute to his great-grandfather, Prince Philip.

Her Majesty can expect number 11 this year too, as and are expecting their second child, a girl, in the summer of 2021.

When asked how his wife was doing during the recording on Monday, Mike said, “‘As every man will say, she's a warrior.

As always, they always are.

We can never judge a woman in terms of what they have to go through with childbirth.

So, no, she was back up.

We went for a walk this morning with him, and yeah, all good.”

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said, “‘The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are delighted at the news of Mike and Zara's new baby and look forward to meeting their tenth great-grandchild, when circumstances allow.'”

The birth of Lucas Philip Tindall brings joy to the Royal Family, who have been through a difficult year with the passing of Prince Philip.

The Tindalls can now enjoy their new bundle of joy and the excitement of having a son after two daughters.

Congratulations to the happy family!
