Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s popularity in the United Kingdom has plunged to new lows – Following their interview with Oprah
According to a recent YouGov poll, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently viewed negatively by the majority of Britons.
The fallout from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey is still being felt. Days after mocking the royal family on television to justify why they moved to the United States, their popularity in the United Kingdom has plunged to new lows.
In the aftermath of the bombshell interview, a YouGov poll found that 48 percent of British respondents had a negative opinion of Prince Harry, compared to 45 percent who had a favorable opinion. He now has a net favorability rating of -3, which is down 15 points from the previous poll. Markle, on the other hand, saw a decline of 13 points, dropping to -27. (meaning that 31 percent have a positive view of her, while 58 percent have a negative view).
Following the Oprah interview, Harry and Meghan's net favorability scores have plunged to new lows.
The only other royal whose popularity has fallen since the interview is Prince Charles, who has dropped 14 points to +7; Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, and Princess Catherine's views have remained largely unchanged.
In a separate poll conducted by Piplsay earlier this week, half of British respondents believed the interview would damage Markle and Prince Harry. They were right, it seems.
