Who in the Royal Family made the racist comment about Harry and Meghan’s child?
THE MOST Anticipated INTERVIEW OF THE YEAR WAS RELEASED ON SUNDAY EVENING, AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
If you adore or despise the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, or the British Royal Family in general, you must admit that the two parties' friendship has been compromised to an almost irreversible degree.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hinted at, implied, and outright announced that the Royal Family had a lot to apologize for after their two-hour ‘grand reveal' with Oprah Winfrey.
The British monarchy was accused of secrecy, double expectations, bullying, smearing, deception, and entrapment, according to the pair.
Their claim that a family member made a racist comment about their unborn baby Archie was probably the most damning indictment.
So, who was the person who made this remark? Here's what we've seen so far:
Trending:
What did Meghan have to say about it?
Meghan also alleged that there were “conversations” in the Palace when she was pregnant with her son Archie, who is now 22 months old, about how dark her son's skin could be, and that an unidentified member of the family had expressed “concerns” about this.
“In those months when I was pregnant, we had in tandem the conversation of he [Archie] won't be given protection, he won't be given a title, and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin would be when he's born,” she told Oprah.
So, which member of the family made the racist remark?
Meghan and Harry have not revealed who the accused person is, but they have ruled out the Queen and her husband, Duke of Edinburgh Prince Phillip.
However, it seems that a close family member raised the issue, and others have suggested that comments by Prince Charles, his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles, Prince William, or perhaps his wife the Duchess of Cambridge may have been made.
So, what did Harry have to say?
“I'm never going to share the conversation,” he told Oprah.
“But it was uncomfortable at the moment, and I was surprised.”
Some, like Piers Morgan, also chastised Harry and Meghan for leveling a racist charge against a member of their family without disclosing who is to blame, thus falsely smearing the whole family.
What did Piers Morgan have to say about it?
“As with the racism allegations, if anything happens, we need names or everybody there gets smeared with the same awful allegation,” Morgan tweeted on Monday.
Morgan said on Monday's episode of Good Morning Britain, “They trash everyone.”
“By throwing this [racism] bombshell, they essentially make it that the Royal Family were a bunch of white nationalists.”
“We didn't specify who it was. They just said it could be any member of the Royal Family, so they didn't mention which one, and Harry says, “I'll never say who it was,” well you better say it fast.
“It's strange, though, because [Harry] was relaxed revealing everything else in that interview, but [he] was willing to let the bombshell go totally unanswered, so we now have to believe it may have been any member of the Royal Family who was obviously insensitive about your child's skin color.”
“I'm sorry, but I don't think that's acceptable.”
