Google’s Year in Search 2020 offers a glimpse at the year’s worries, anxieties, distractions, and obsessions. Some of our queries are reassuringly identical no matter where we are on the globe, whilst others show cultural quirks and variations.

Google looks at the billions of search queries it gets every day and discovers the keywords that have experienced the greatest increase this year relative to last year. The term “coronavirus” topped the total ranking, which is unsurprising.
