Fans of Netflix’s The Crown react to Sussex interview

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, posed for a much anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey at the same time as Netflix's The Crown received the Critics' Choice Award for best drama series. It was their first joint interview since they revealed last year that they would be stepping down from their roles as senior members of the Royal Family of the United Kingdom.

Fans of the streaming series took to Twitter to express their feelings about the interview, in which the pair made some damaging claims towards the royal family, including racism and harassment. In recent seasons of The Crown, divisive topics such as the royal family's rigidity and exclusivity, especially in their handling of ‘outsiders,' have been explored. The series follows Queen Elizabeth II's reign and has broadcast four seasons so far, with two more scheduled.
