William and Charles met Harry together so that ‘words can’t be misconstrued’

According to a royal insider, met with William and Charles after they offered to come together so that their comments would not be misconstrued.

However, in an extraordinary move that exposes the extent of their rift, Charles and William preferred to speak with Harry together so that no one's comments could be misconstrued later, according to a royal source who spoke to Mail Online's Dan Wootton.

“There was no official wake after the funeral, but Charles, William and Harry took the opportunity to speak and catch up face to face after many months apart.

“They were only able to spend a short time together outdoors given Covid restrictions and also without staff, including senior courtiers, overhearing what was being said.”

“It was important to Charles and William that they were both there together.

“It means nothing spoken about can be misconstrued in the future.”

“There is much pain and hurt on both sides,” another source said, “so this reconciliation will take baby steps.”

“First, they need to decide on some ground rules as to how they conduct business going forward in a way that makes all parties feel safe and protected.”

It comes after news that wants assurances that all potential conversations with his brother will remain private, after Gayle King's revelation that their family chats were not productive.

Ms King, Meghan's friend, disclosed after the interview that Harry had talked to his brother and , but that the conversations were “unproductive.”

“Harry was out in the cold after Oprah and then when details of private family conversations were leaked to Gayle King it was the final straw,” a source said.

“Some family members cannot believe what he has done, but there is a feeling that with the Duke's death and the family coming together, conversations need to be had.”

According to the Sun, the Queen has given Charles and William full support in dealing with the situation with Harry.

“The Queen has made it clear to senior advisers that she is united with Charles and William, and was disappointed with aspects of Harry and Meghan's interview,” a source said.

Last week, the Duke of Sussex returned to the UK to attend his grandfather, Prince Philip's, funeral, where he met William for the first time in a year.

Following Megxit, the brothers' relationship allegedly deteriorated, with Harry telling that they were on “different paths.”

While the world looked on, they were seen walking solemnly behind their grandfather's coffin, separated by their cousin Peter Phillips.
