Pink says she and her husband didn’t have sex for a year: ‘Monogamy is work’

Pink said that she and her husband Carey Hart went a year without having sex when speaking about the difficulties of marriage.

The singer, 38, and the retired motocross champion, 42, – who have a six-year-old daughter Willow and a nine-month-old son Jameson – have split twice in their relationship, and the star has now admitted that while she believes her beau is a ‘rock,’ they also have to ‘work’ at keeping their relationship monogamous.

The singer spoke to The Guardian about the highs and lows of her 11-year marriage to Carey Hart.

She told the newspaper, “There are moments where I look at [Hart] and he is the most thoughtful, logical, constant…he’s like a rock. He’s a good man. He’s a good dad. He’s just the kind of dad I thought he’d be and then some. And then I’ll look at him and go: I’ve never liked you. There’s nothing I like about you. We have nothing in common. I don’t like any of the shit you like. I don’t ever wanna see you again. Then two weeks later I’m like, ‘Things are going so good, you guys.'”

Pink went on to say that she and her 42-year-old husband previously lasted a year without sleeping together. “Then you’ll go through times when you haven’t had sex in a year,” she revealed. “Is this bed death/ Is this the end of it? Do I want him? Does he want me? Monogamy is work! But you do the work and it’s good again”

Pink (born Alecia Moore) stated that her romance, as well as parenthood, has changed her worldview. And her journey from drug-addicted youngster to inspiring mother and music star has come full circle.

“Other people’s parents wouldn’t let me come over when I was a kid,” she explained. “I was the s—head. No one wanted their kid anywhere near me. I was the runaway, I was the f—up, I was the one that had the mouth, I was always in trouble. And now, moms are like: ‘I love that my daughter loves you.’ How the world turns.”

It’s not the first time the ‘What About Us’ singer has spoken up about her difficult relationship with Carey, who she previously said she used to return her wedding ring to him ‘every night’ when they were having problems.

When questioned if her relationship was still ‘volatile’ and ‘combative’ by Allison Langdon on 60 Minutes earlier this month, Pink insisted things had changed.

‘We have learnt the art of communication,’ she recently conceded. ‘I don’t hand my wedding ring back every night like I used to. Because that’s just dumb and I can’t actually get it off.’
