Meghan Markle’s Appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show: A Candid Interview
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has made her debut appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show, surprising the world with a candid interview set to air in the US on Thursday.
In the interview, Meghan is expected to touch on everything from her work as an actress to life as a royal and her two young children Archie and Lilibet.
Today show US correspondent Amelia Adams delivered a news update about the Duchess of Sussex's surprise sit-down with Ellen DeGeneres, stating that she wasn't sure if we'll hear any bombshells about the royal family in tomorrow's chat with her old friend Ellen.
“Certainly, at this stage, the clip they've released is Meghan reminiscing about her days as a struggling actress,” Ms. Adams explained.
In a clip from Meghan's interview, the former Suits star is seen sitting on Ellen's couch in a white bishop sleeve blouse and black pants.
“After auditions, I would park at the back of the parking lot and I would open the trunk and climb in and then pull it shut behind me and crawl over all my seats to get out.

That's how I would come to and fro,” Meghan laughed.
After the teaser ended, Ms. Adams snarkily remarked, “Yeah, she's just keeping it real there.
In a $4,000 Oscar de la Renta blouse.
Safe to say she has moved up in the world since those days.”
Today co-host Karl Stefanovic, an outspoken critic of Prince Harry and Meghan, chuckled at the barbed remark about the Duchess keeping it real.
This is the first time the Duchess has appeared on a daytime talk show since marrying Prince Harry in 2018, though the pair did sit down for their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview earlier this year.
Some viewers were surprised that Meghan agreed to appear on the Ellen Show, but others insisted it was only a matter of time before it happened, as the two women have been friendly for years.
In a promo clip for the highly anticipated interview, Meghan told Ellen that she and Prince Harry are just happy with their new life in Montecito, California, before adding that Lil' Bette is currently teething and she will do anything to relieve that.
“Tequila, anything,” Ellen joked, to which Meghan replied, “That's Auntie Ellen for you.”
However, some royal experts questioned whether Americans would be impressed by her account of how she had to struggle when her estranged father Thomas put her through private school from kindergarten and she now lives in a $14 million L.A. mansion while sitting on a $100 million fortune.
Her claims also faced serious questions after it emerged she previously bragged that as a schoolgirl her father regularly took her to one of L.A.'s most famous restaurants where celebrities gobble up steaks, which now cost $55.
A 2013 post from Meghan's Instagram account, deleted when she started dating Prince Harry, reveals that the Duchess told her 3 million followers of Happy Times at the Musso and Frank Grill on Hollywood Boulevard, and hinted she ate there regularly after dance lessons.
One critic told, “She has receipts all over her Instagram contradicting her poverty letter.
Another said, ‘She went to one of the most expensive schools in Los Angeles, but they couldn't afford to spend more than $5 on a weekend dinner.
I mean, during this time, Thomas was working on a hit TV show and had won an Emmy.
WTH is she talking about, Emmy?'”
Despite the criticism, Meghan's interview with Ellen DeGeneres promises to be an interesting and revealing insight into the life of the Duchess of Sussex.
It remains to be seen whether Meghan will touch on any controversial topics during her chat with Ellen, but one thing is for sure – this interview is not to be missed.
