Princess Anne Takes Charge: Crushes Meg’s UK Trip Before King’s Coronation

With King Charles' coronation fast approaching, the Royal Family is gearing up for the historic event.

Buckingham Palace has already shared details about which crowns the monarch and Queen's concert will wear, as well as other ceremonial details.

The coronation will take place on Saturday, 6th May at Westminster Abbey, followed by a concert and street parties the next day and the Big Help Out volunteering event on the Bank Holiday Monday.

However, before the coronation, Princess Anne has officially undertaken the Queen's last order, crushing 's UK trip.

This move comes as no surprise, as Princess Anne has long been a beacon of purpose and honour in the House of Windsor.

On the day revealed the cover of his memoir last October, Princess Anne was in Uganda meeting families at a settlement for refugees fleeing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Despite her lowly rank of 16th in line to the throne, Princess Anne's contribution, popularity, and likely new prominence cannot be ignored.

Many in palace circles believe she is the best king they will never have.

Dressed in military uniform for the Queen's funeral, only weeks before her Uganda trip, Princess Anne was the only woman to join the solemn march behind the coffin for the procession to Westminster Abbey.

At one point, Charles' eyes glistened and his jaw clenched shut, a composed Anne turned to look at him with a silent message of support.

Humility has become perhaps Anne's greatest asset, and this is where Harry and Meghan failed.

There was too much ego, whereas Anne recognizes that this is the job, and you just get on with it.

Princess Anne was born in the summer of 1950, and her life of duty began when she was not yet three years old, waving to the crowds at her mother's coronation.

The idea of opting out is a non-starter, she would later say.

In her youth, Anne resented the intense media interest in her private life, and she had a reputation for being prickly.

She endured trauma, including an armed kidnapping attempt in 1974, and lacked the clearly defined destiny of her older brother.

Yet somehow, Anne sailed through it all, applying a stoicism and work ethic that have been seen as unshakable as her signature bouffant.

Anne's equanimity is thought to have been inherited from Prince Philip, as she is very much her father's daughter.

He joined King Charles, the Princess Royal, and her husband, Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, although he was not listed on the court circular.

It remains to be seen what role he will play in the future.

The upcoming coronation will showcase the Royal Family's unity and strength, with Princess Anne taking charge and fulfilling the Queen's last order.

It is evident that she will play a much greater role in the coming years, and Charles will be relying on her a lot.

Princess Anne's popularity and contribution to the monarchy cannot be ignored, and she is a shining example of humility and duty.
