Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Kick Off Scandinavian Tour in Style

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have begun their Scandinavian tour with a flurry of engagements in Stockholm.

Crowds of well-wishers gathered to catch a glimpse of the British royals, braving sub-zero temperatures to see them pass by.

The Duchess, wrapped up in a stylish green Catherine Walker coat, chatted with fans in Stortorget square, while William joked about the freezing conditions.

Joining the royal couple were Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband, Prince Daniel.

This was the first time the two couples have been seen together publicly since Victoria and Daniel attended William and Kate’s wedding in 2011.

All four royals enjoyed a lunch at the Royal Palace, hosted by King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Sylvia of Sweden.

After lunch, the group made their way to the Nobel Museum on foot.

Kate changed into a forest green Catherine Walker dress and coat with black heels for the occasion, and added more practical boots and a fur hat for the walkabout afterwards.

She also wore a fake fur collar and cuffs by Troy London, set up by her close friend Rosie Van Cutsem.

At the museum, the Duke and Duchess met a number of Nobel laureates and learned more about science in Sweden and the Nobel laureate system.

They also celebrated Swedish design, including iconic Global Flat Pack furniture brand IKEA, with an emphasis on sustainable furnishings.

The couple’s final engagement of the day was a dinner at the residence of the British ambassador, where they are staying for the duration of their trip to Stockholm.

The event was attended by members of the Swedish royal family, government, and popular culture.

The Duke and Duchess were clearly delighted to be in Stockholm, and the crowds were equally thrilled to see them.

Despite the freezing temperatures, fans stood ten deep in Stortorget square, brandishing their phones to snap a picture as the royals passed by.

This was a particularly special occasion for the Duke and Duchess, as it marked their first official visit to Sweden.

Their itinerary included a range of events that showcased the best of Swedish culture and innovation, from the Nobel Museum to sustainable furnishings.

The couple’s tour of Scandinavia is part of their ongoing work to promote UK interests overseas, and to strengthen relationships with other countries.

They will also visit Norway during their trip, where they will continue to engage with local communities and learn more about Norwegian culture.
