Meghan Markle and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, reportedly had tensions early on in their relationship.
It all started when a designer, whose clothes were worn by both women, prioritised the Princess of Wales over Meghan.
Erdem Morelioglu, a British designer, is loved by both Kate and Meghan for his confident colour choices and fearless approach to pattern.
Despite wearing his designs to several engagements before entering royal life, once Meghan joined the firm, the Princess of Wales was given priority over her as she too was an existing customer.
Kate has been spotted wearing Erdem's creations on multiple royal engagements over the years.
She wore a mid-car fit and flair frock from the designer's SS18 collection to attend the opening of the V&A Photography Centre at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2018.
She also sported a full-length mustard floral plinth gown to a dinner given by the British Ambassador in Stockholm in 2018 and opted for the designer's Sheba floral cotton silk gown to attend the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019.

Meanwhile, Meghan wore Erdem's Divina dress from his 2015 collection in early 2016, before it was available to the general public.
She was also seen in Erdem dresses in March 2017 during a wedding in Jamaica and around the time of the 2017 Invictus Games.
However, as a royal, Meghan didn't publicly wear the designer until March 2019.
The fact that the dresses crafted by the Canadian-born British designer were being handed to Kate first is said to have gone down badly with the Sussexes.
This led to Meghan allegedly saying Kate wasn't even the Queen.
A new rumour suggests that one reason Erdem prioritised Catherine's orders over Meghan's was due to Meghan failing to return the Erdem dress that she'd been loaned for the 2017 Invictus Games.
Meghan Markle has been accused of getting convenient fake-nesia whenever it suits her purposes.
She has a history of accidentally walking off with clothes and shoes that don't belong to her.
During a photoshoot for Reitman's, she left the Reitman's shoes and conveniently took the wardrobe supplied beige suede Aquazura shoes with her.
People who worked with Meghan on the Reitman's shoots were very vocal about her diva demands and lack of collaboration on the project outside of wanting a Hollywood budget.
Some of this information would have had to come straight from Meghan's former agent, Laurie Sale.
At the time, Meghan's behaviour was so bad that she even stole a pair of shoes and didn't say goodbye to the crew.
Moreover, Meghan lost the jewellery that Her Majesty the Queen loaned her, and she thought it was a gift.
Why?
Because she didn't get paid for all of her appearances during the Australian tour.
This behaviour has caused many to question her character and wonder if she is fit for royal life.
Erdem Morelioglu's romantic clothing has been described as chintzy by some due to his use of romantic floral fabrics.
Despite this, he has garnered a loyal following among the British royals, with both Kate and Meghan being fans of his work.
The designer has been described as being like Marmite as people tend to either love or detest his work, with no room for ambivalence.
In conclusion, tensions have arisen between Meghan Markle and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, over a British designer, Erdem Morelioglu, whose clothes they both love.
