Together at Christmas Carol Concert: Princess Catherine Curtsies to King and Queen Consort in Public for the First Time

On Thursday night, Princess Catherine of Wales organized the Together at Christmas Carol concert at Westminster Abbey.

The event was filmed and is set to air on ITV on December 24th.

The concert was attended by a number of royals, including the King and his wife.

As the royals arrived for the service, cameras at the Abbey captured the sweet moment Catherine gave a curtsy to the King and Queen consort for the first time in public since Charles III became the monarch.

Wearing a burgundy coat by Eponine London for the occasion, the Princess offered him a kiss on either cheek before dipping into a low curtsy.

Other royals turned out in force to support Catherine, including the Countess of Wessex, Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mosi, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, and Michael Zara Tyndall.

Her husband, Prince William, and two of their three children, Prince George IX and Princess Charlotte VII, also made a surprise appearance at the service.

In a shared footage from the service, the King can be seen offering a warm greeting to his daughter-in-law Catherine who beams at him as she kisses him on either cheek.

Meanwhile, she went on to offer him a low curtsy before affectionately rubbing his arm.

She offered a similar familiar greeting to Camilla who appeared overjoyed to be attending the event.

Charles went on to greet his grandchildren Prince George and Princess Charlotte giving them a kiss on either cheek.

Many of those watching went wild over the moment with one writing, “lovely to see this event and due respect so easily paid to the King and Queen.

I'm pleased they were there to support our Princess of Wales.”

Meanwhile, another added, “she curtsies to them with elegance and confidence but no fuss as always an example to everyone.”

A third commented, “that actually choked me up a little bit.

Catherine is the epitome of grace and loyalty.

How lucky is William?”

Another wrote, “I'm crying.

What a respectful moment.

She deserves everything.

A Princess of Wales.”

Professional body language expert Judy James analyzed Catherine's curtsy to the King and Queen consort.

Judy praised Catherine's perfect curtsy that the Princess performed with two small but significant bobs as she welcomed the King and Queen to her carol concert.

According to the expert, the gestures of unity at the carol service really helped show how close the family is.

The expert also pointed out that Queen Camilla also shared a similar level of warmth with the Princess of Wales.

She noted, “Camilla's kiss for Catherine involves her hands placed on Catherine's shoulders.

In another add-on ritual, Camilla's hand seems to still be on Catherine's torso as they turn to the others.”

King Charles looked like a proud grandfather at the Together at Christmas carol concert with his two eldest grandchildren.

Judy opined, “Charles has never been a comfortable tactile man in public, but his kisses for the two children look sweet with George returning the arm clutch and Charlotte throwing both hands out as her grandfather bends to kiss her.”

Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales also greeted his father with warmth.
