Meghan Markle Wears Princess Diana’s £17,800 Cartier Watch in Netflix Trailer

The much-anticipated trailer for and 's upcoming Netflix documentary series has been released, and it features the Duchess of Sussex wearing an extremely special piece of jewellery.

In the concluding scene of the trailer, Meghan can be seen wearing the £17,800 gold Cartier Tank watch that once belonged to her late mother-in-law .

In addition to the Cartier watch, Meghan also flaunted her £5,000 Cartier Love bracelet and a Jennifer Meyer-designed mini gold tennis bracelet worth $3,000.

The Duchess completed her ensemble with a lilac long-sleeved sweater and her £271,000 engagement ring from , which she wore in other scenes of the trailer.

The Tank watch, rumoured to have been given to Meghan by Harry, was originally listed for £17,800, but given its history, is now probably worth much more.

Diana wore the classy timepiece on a number of occasions, including a trip to the Sri Swaminaray Mandir Hindi Temple in London in 1997 and an appearance at the British Lung Foundation that same year.

Meghan has always been a fan of the Cartier French Tank watch and splurged on her own model when her television programme, Suits, was renewed for a third season in 2015.

“I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch,” she admitted to Hello magazine.

“I totally went overboard and purchased the two-tone model.

When I learned that Suits had been renewed for a third season, which at the time felt like such a significant milestone, I had it engraved on the back, to MM from MM, and I plan to give it to my daughter one day.

That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them.”

Meghan has been gifted several items from Diana's collection, including her butterfly earrings and gold bracelet, which she wore on their Australian tour in 2018.

However, the watch is a favourite, and she has been spotted wearing it often.

It's worth noting that Meghan has always been known to favour large jewellery stacks, while members of the Royal Family typically prefer to keep their accessories to a bare minimum.

Alongside the Cartier watch, the mother of two stacked a £5,000 Cartier Love Bracelet, a design that she has worn many times in the past and which is also thought to have been a gift from Prince Harry in the early days of their romance.

The oval Cartier band is made of two C-shaped halves screwed together, and the only way to remove it is with a screwdriver like the 18-carat one supplied, a feature said to be inspired by medieval chastity belts.

King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson each had earlier versions of the Cartier Love Bracelet as well.

Meghan also sported her £271,000 engagement ring in other parts of the trailer, which was originally designed by Prince Harry and caught jewellers Cleve and company using one stone from Botswana and two smaller stones from Diana's collection.

Harry proposed to Meghan in November 2017, with a glittering ring comprising a solid yellow gold band.

However, in 2019, images revealed that the design had been changed in order to incorporate a thinner band that was set with several paved diamonds all around it.

Finally, Meghan added a more dainty mini gold tennis bracelet designed by Jennifer Meyer, which is described on her website as a “chic complement to everyday style and a true staple.”

In conclusion, the Duchess of Sussex looked stunning in the Netflix trailer, wearing a combination of high-end jewellery pieces, including 's iconic Cartier Tank watch.

The watch, along with her other accessories, added a touch of elegance and sophistication to her overall look, and it's clear that Meghan has a deep connection to each piece.

Fans of the royal couple are eagerly anticipating the release of the Netflix documentary series, which promises to offer an intimate look into their lives.
