Dame Helen Mirren Calls Meghan a Devil Traitor in BAFTA Speech, Causing Outrage

The 2023 BAFTA Awards were held on Sunday evening at London's South Bank Centre's Royal Festival Hall.

Helen concluded her speech by saying, “Your Majesty, you are the nation's leading star.

On behalf of BAFTA, thank you for all you've done for our film and television industry.

Leaders of loving service are still rare, but in all cases, those who serve will be loved and remembered when those who cling to power and privilege have forgotten.

Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is, but for a moment.

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who promote peace have joy.”

However, it was Richard Grant's statement that followed that caused controversy.

He said, “Yes, thank you, Your Majesty, for everything.”

The statement was so poignant that the whole studio was silent for a moment, and then there was a round of enthusiastic applause.

Immediately after the content of the speech was spread on social networks, all the audiences agreed that the people who were objectively betrayal and lies mentioned were none other than Meghan and Harry.
