Princess Beatrice and Queen Camilla Given Vital Roles as Councillors of State
The new monarch's niece, Princess Beatrice, and his wife, Queen Camilla, have been appointed councillors of state.
This means that they could be called upon to carry out important state roles if the monarch is unable to do so temporarily due to illness or absence abroad.
The councillors of state play a crucial role in carrying out most of the official duties of the sovereign.
Currently, there are five members of the royal family who hold these positions.
Under the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, the councillors of state were Prince Philip until his death in April 2021, then Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Prince Andrew.
However, now that Charles has ascended the throne as king, his councillors of state are his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William, Prince Harry, Prince Andrew, and Princess Beatrice.

Although councillors of state can attend privy council meetings and sign routine documents, some rights remain firmly under the remit of the reigning monarch.
For instance, councillors of state cannot dissolve parliament unless the monarch instructs it, create peers, address Commonwealth matters or appoint a prime minister.
It is worth noting that several of the current councillors of state are not working members of the royal family.
Princess Beatrice, for example, holds an HRH title and the style of princess, but she pursues her own career away from the royal family and doesn't serve the crown in an official capacity.
Prince Andrew stepped down from royal duties in 2019, while Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, moved to the US in 2020.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believes that the appointment of Harry and Andrew as councillors of state is unsatisfactory and should be changed in the new reign.
He suggests that the Princess Royal and the Earl of Wessex would be excellent candidates.
However, this would involve altering the current way councillors are chosen.
As it currently stands, Princess Anne and Prince Edward are too low in the line of succession to be councillors of state despite being working royals.
When Prince William becomes king, his councillors of state are likely to be his wife, the current Princess of Wales, and his children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis when they are old enough, as well as Prince Harry.
It remains unclear whether King Charles will introduce changes to the councillors of state appointment process while the royal family remains in mourning for the Queen.
Several points need to be ironed out on the royal agenda, including Charles' upcoming coronation, which will probably be held in 2023.
The issue of his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet's royal titles also remains a point of confusion.
Meghan Markle Accused of Wanting to Destroy the Royal Family
In other news, royal author and biographer Meghan McCain has accused Meghan Markle of wanting to destroy the royal family.
In her latest piece for the Daily Mail, McCain claimed that Harry and Meghan are in the business of Harry and Meghan and that they want to be A-list celebrities in America.
McCain further added that Harry and Meghan do not want to play second fiddle to anyone and that they want to be King Harry and Queen Meghan.
She believes that no matter how many magazine covers they grace or interviews they give, they will never reign over England.
Overall, the appointment of Princess Beatrice and Queen Camilla as councillors of state is a significant development in the royal family.
It remains to be seen whether King Charles will introduce any changes to the appointment process, but for now, the new councillors of state will play an essential role in carrying out official duties on behalf of the monarch.
