95% of Readers Vote Against Duke and Duchess of Sussex Returning to UK for Lilibet’s Christening
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are currently based in California, have faced a resounding “no” from readers in an online poll conducted by Express.co.uk.
The poll asked whether the couple should return to Britain to christen their daughter, Lilibet Lily Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
The poll was conducted after Royal author Ian Lloyd suggested that holding the baptism in the UK could help repair Harry and Meghan's rift with the Royal family.
However, a staggering 95% of respondents said that the Sussexes should not return to Britain for Lilibet's christening.
Only 4% of respondents thought they should, while 1% were unsure.
Some readers commented on the website, with one saying, “No, let them stay in the USA.”

Another wrote, “No, no, no.”
A third reader blasted, “Nope, why bother after all the negativity they've thrown at the Royal family and the UK.”
Another insisted, “No, they have burned too many bridges.”
A fifth added, “Stay in the US please.”
Mr Lloyd had suggested that holding Lilibet's christening in the UK would be a diplomatic and nice way of building bridges with the Royal family.
He also said that it would allow the Queen to meet her latest great-grandchild.
Mr Lloyd stated on Palace Confidential on Mail Plus, “One of the things we have to wait and see is whether little Lilibet is christened in this country given the Sussexes' horror of high-profile events.
They might want to keep it a low-profile event with the Cloonies and Oprah in America.
But if they do decide to come here and christen the baby then we'll have a photograph if we haven't seen the baby yet.
It would be nice for the Queen to meet her.
Nice for it to be documented and of course, the baby would get to wear the Royal christening robes.”
Lilibet Lily Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4 at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California, weighing 7 pounds 11 ounces.
She is now settling into Harry and Meghan's mansion in Montecito with her two-year-old brother, Archie.
