Prince George Celebrates Ninth Birthday with Royal Family Tributes
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's firstborn child, Prince George, turned nine on Friday, July 22nd, and the royal family celebrated the occasion with a series of social media posts.
Queen Elizabeth dedicated a special Twitter post to the future king, sharing a photo of the pair from the Platinum Jubilee celebrations last month.
The young prince stood next to his great-grandmother on Buckingham Palace balcony as the country came together to honour the monarch's 70 years on the throne.
Prince George's grandfather, Prince Charles, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also shared a birthday wish alongside the cupcake emoji for the young royal.
The couple retweeted Prince William and Catherine's social media post for their eldest son, writing, “Happy ninth birthday to Prince George.”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a brand new photo of George to celebrate the boy turning nine.

The sweet snap, taken by his mother, Catherine, shows the future king beaming into the camera on the beach.
In a more casual look than he has sported in public recently, George is wearing a blue polo shirt.
The Cambridges had ventured on the seaside trip after school had broken up for George and his siblings, Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four.
It's become tradition for Catherine to take pictures of her eldest son, along with her two other children, every year, and the keen amateur photographer regularly releases her snaps to the public for various occasions.
Once shared, royal fans were sent wild by a new photo of George in which he is the image of his father, William, at the same age.
They gushed over the photo and were quick to point out the resemblance between the young prince and his father.
In addition to realizing George's uncanny resemblance to his father, one also noticed how quickly he is growing up, with body language expert Judy James insisting this is only the beginning as we are all witnessing George's confidence and maturity unfurl before our eyes.
Sources revealed that he goes out of his way to help his mother with household chores and is a very protective older brother to Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
His growing independence was also evident in his latest outings with his parents to Wimbledon where he mirrored Prince William in a smart suit and shook the hands of tennis pro Novak Djokovic.
Following the Cambridge family's decision to relocate to Berkshire, George and Charlotte Cambridge have been withdrawn from the Thomas Battersea Prep School in South West London during the summer.
Instead, they will begin attending a new prep school in Berkshire in September, along with their younger brother Louis.
Just before classes are scheduled to begin, the Cambridge family will relocate from their current residence at Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage, which is situated on the grounds of the Queen's Estate.
The cottage is believed to be a modern four-bedroom structure with lots of garden space for the children.
According to reports, it is only a few minutes' walk from St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
The royal family tributes come after a year of growth and change for Prince George, who will one day inherit the throne.
Fans of the young prince have watched him unfurl in the public eye, showing signs of his cheeky, fun-loving side while also displaying a growing sense of maturity when it comes to some quite challenging royal events.
As Prince George enters his ninth year, the world continues to watch his development and eagerly awaits what the future holds for the young prince.
Happy birthday, Prince George!
