Earl Spencer Speaks Out Amid Royal Family Drama

The drama surrounding the British royal family continues to unfold, with 's brother, Charles Spencer, finally breaking his silence after and 's explosive claims about the royal family.

Spencer, who is the 9th Earl Spencer, took to Instagram to post a picture of King Charles I, who was executed in 1649 after his quarrelling with Parliament led to a civil war.

According to the Daily Mail, Spencer has remained silent since his nephew's claims, but his recent post on Instagram has been dubbed very apt in the light of recent revelations.

The picture was captioned, “Portrait of Charles I, hanging in the picture gallery at Althorp House.”

The king visited the house in the 1630s as an honoured guest, and Spencer went on to say that the king was a guest at Althorp, the Spencer estate, multiple times in 1647.

Spencer also listed the king's hobbies as playing chess, Bible reading and lawn bowling, adding that the Spencer estate had an excellent bowling green.

Fans were quick to comment on the post, with one writing, “I wish I was a fly on your wall, the history your family would have collected in time.”

Another fan added, “very apt portrait and king to reflect on today.”

Based on Harry's scurrilous antics, many royal experts are speculating as to whether or not Harry and Meghan will be invited to Charles' coronation ceremony next year.

One fan commented, “you may be silent on the Netflix drama, but after this post about a previous king, Charles, might one dare to say that you are hashtag team Harry.

Very sagacious to stay silent but let history speak for you.”

Investigative journalist Tom Bauer released his book, “Revenge, Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors” earlier this year, which shed light on some shocking claims about the couple.

One of the most interesting stories was how hoped that Diana's two sisters and best friend would see the similarities he felt Meghan shared with his mother, and how he was disappointed when they didn't.

Bauer suggests that Diana's brother Earl Spencer was asked to speak to his nephew about his closeness with .

The author claims that not only did Earl Spencer, Lady Sarah McCordell, Baroness Jane Fellows and a friend Julia Samuel fail to see the similarities between Meghan and Harry's late mother as the prince had reportedly hoped, but they thought that she would struggle to fit in with the royal family.

Bauer wrote, “since the Vanity Fair article had increased the Cambridges' suspicion of Meghan, the actress discovered that her neighbour in Kensington Palace had even less time for her.

By then, Harry had introduced Meghan to Diana's two sisters, Jane and Sarah, and her best friend Julia Samuel.

Harry assumed that Diana's family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancé.

Both, he said, shared the same problems.

He was disappointed.

No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his new girlfriend.

More discomforting for him, they thought Meghan wouldn't fit in.”

The royal family drama continues to unfold, with many speculating as to what will happen next.
