William and Kate Enjoy Family Bike Ride on Secret Getaway to Isles of Scilly

Prince William and Princess Kate have been spotted enjoying a secret family outing with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

With the half-term break in full swing, the royal couple has taken the opportunity to spend some quality time together away from their busy schedules.

So, what are the Wales children up to during their break from lessons at Lambrook school?

Well, it seems that the family has headed to their tranquil island paradise located just an hour's flight away from the UK mainland – the Isles of Scilly.

The Isles of Scilly is an archipelago off the coast of Cornwall and a popular holiday destination for the royal couple.

The Welses have visited the island of Tresco in the archipelago twice recently for breaks with their young family, once in 2020 and then again in 2021.

Now that he has inherited the Duchy of Cornwall, Prince William owns the Isles and has been spotted with his wife and children riding bikes and chatting to locals there.

A holidaymaker who saw the royals told us, “We hardly noticed at first, as they seemed like a normal family on holiday intent on keeping themselves to themselves.

The place where they were staying was quite modest and certainly not hugely luxurious.”

The Isles of Scilly holds fond childhood memories for William, who holidayed in Tresco with his parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, and his brother, Prince Harry, in 1989.

A photograph from the break captured a 7-year-old William as he prepared for a bike ride alongside his family, with Diana standing behind him in a fuchsia jumper.

William also visited the island with Kate in 2016, with images showing the pair boarding a boat to St Martins after visiting the Tresco Abbey Garden.

In July last year, the royals decided to venture to the island near the coast of Cornwall for a quick getaway before George and Charlotte returned to school.

“They were keen to support our travel industry,” an insider said at the time.

As well as their 2020 summer holiday in the Sicilies, the family returned in October and stayed in a modest four-bedroom stone cottage.

Another moment that stood out was when Mrs Perkins was one of the dozens of inhabitants from St Martins Island who welcomed the Duke and Duchess to their picturesque home with its crystal blue waters and silver sandy beaches.

Foggy weather, which had delayed their arrival by helicopter, had blown away to be replaced by brilliant summer sunshine and blue skies.

William and Kate arrived on the rocky outcrop by boat and donned shades as they walked along the main road, a country lane lined with pretty cottages and hedgerows.

Due to its beauty and privacy, the isles are popular with the royal family and other celebrities, as with only 5,000 tourist beds on the island, they are perfect for some quiet relaxation.

There are only 2,100 permanent residents on the Isles of Scilly, and 1,600 of them reside on the largest island, St Mary's.

The islands are only accessible by boat or plane, and travel between each island is usually done via a small ferry or boat.

Tresco is the second largest Scilly island and is home to stunning subtropical botanical gardens, established by August Smith in the 19th century.

The island was ranked one of the firm's favourite holiday destinations by Igloo Cruise, with the late Queen's beloved Balmoral in the Scottish Highlands coming top of the list.

In conclusion, it seems that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have found the perfect getaway spot for their young family, where they can enjoy some peace and quiet away from the public eye.
