The first episode debuted at number 17 on the UK Spotify list, behind a Deep Sleep Sounds podcast of whale noises. Seven days after the broadcast, the Sussexes episode climbed to number 7.

Spotify executives, on the other hand, wanted Meghan and Harry's podcast to be number one. The program was also “critically panned” for being “too radical,” creating further difficulties for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were unable to arrange appropriate guests.
