Duchess of Cambridge Comforts Prince Charles at Emotional Funeral of Prince Philip

The funeral of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was an emotional affair for the British royal family.

Among the attendees was the Duchess of Cambridge, who was seen giving her father-in-law, , a comforting kiss on the cheek.

The touching moment was captured outside St George's Chapel in Windsor as attendees were leaving the ceremony.

Photos show Catherine comforting the Prince of Wales over the loss of his father by putting her hand on his shoulder.

She then kisses him on the cheek as they set off from the entrance of the chapel.

Minutes later, Catherine was seen walking alongside and Harry as they returned to Windsor Castle.

Earlier, ' face was etched with grief as he joined the solemn procession behind his father's coffin.

A tear rolled down Charles' cheek as he led senior members of the family behind the Land Rover carrying the late Duke of Edinburgh on his final journey.

His eyes fixed on the coffin for the eight-minute walk, the Prince appeared visibly moved by the enormity of the occasion.

He had tears in his eyes as he donned his mask before taking his seat next to his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, in the choir of St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Commenting on the heartwarming moment between Catherine and Charles, Judy James, who often analyses the gestures and behaviours of royals and celebrities, said that Prince Charles was overcome by grief during the funeral.

Judy claimed Prince Charles has spent a lifetime marking his emotions in public, but his tears appeared to flow throughout the service.

Speaking to the Express, she said that was seen comforting her husband with the same comforting hand pat that she often used to use in the early days after their relationship went public.

According to Judy, this shows the same supportive and almost maternal traits that seemed to bind them as a couple before their marriage.
