Indian Woman Claims Prince Harry Promised to Marry Her, Files Petition for Arrest Warrant

An Indian woman has filed a petition at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, claiming that she had been contacted by Prince Harry on social media and that he had promised to marry her.

Palwinder Kaur has demanded that Indian authorities issue an international arrest warrant to apprehend Harry in both India and the UK, forcing him to fulfill his promise of marriage without further delay.

The petition filed by Kaur, an advocate who appeared in person, stated: “Prayer is this petition filed by the petitioner… to take legal action against Prince Harry Middleton son of Prince Charles Middleton resident of the United Kingdom and to direct the United Kingdom Police cell to take action against him, as despite a promise to marry the petitioner, the said promise has not been fulfilled.”

However, the court rejected Kaur's application, ruling that it was not proven that she had actually been speaking to Harry.

The judge, Mr. Justice Arvind Singh Sangwan, warned her of the dangers of catfishing, a well-known deceptive activity where a person creates a fictional persona or fake identity on a social networking service, usually targeting a specific victim.

During the hearing, Kaur admitted that she had never even been to the UK or met Harry in person.

All of their supposed contact had been over email and social media.

She added that she had also written to Prince Charles, telling him that Harry was engaged to her and was not fulfilling his promise to marry her.

While the court rejected Kaur's application, they also made it clear that fake social media profiles should not be used as proof that conversations with real people had taken place.
