Kate Middleton: The Duchess Who Wears Princess Diana’s Jewellery

, the Duchess of Cambridge, has been spotted wearing some of 's most iconic jewellery pieces on multiple occasions.

The first piece that Kate received was Diana's engagement ring, which proposed to her with.

According to Good Housekeeping, Kate has also been seen wearing the Lover's Knot tiara, which was given to Diana by the Queen as a wedding present.

One of Diana's most splendid pieces of jewellery is the Diamonds and Pearls tiara, which was made in 1914.

After her wedding to , Kate also inherited a pair of Diana's sapphire earrings.

She gave them a new life by updating the jewels to a drop style, making them more modern and fashionable.

Furthermore, the Duchess has also been seen wearing a pearl bracelet made by Nigel Ngoan in 1988 for Diana at a reception in Berlin.

The Princess of Wales requested in her will for her £21m estate to be split upon her death between her children, Prince William and , and her 17 godchildren.

However, in a separate letter of wishes, she demanded that her two sons had the exclusive rights to her jewellery.

In the letter, wrote: “I would like you to divide my personal chattels at your discretion between my sons and godchildren, the division being three quarters to my sons and one quarter to my godchildren, but I would like you to allocate all my jewellery to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it.

I leave the exact division of the jewellery to your discretion.”

This loose division of her jewellery did not create any stir between the brothers, according to rumours that emerged in the 2010s.

Harry would have originally picked Diana's sapphire ring, which was given by to the Princess of Wales as an engagement ring, but he gave it up when he realised how in love William was with Kate.

He traded it for his mother's Cartier watch.

William carried the ring around for three weeks while he was on holiday with Kate in Mount Kenya in 2010 before proposing.

After the announcement of the engagement, the Duke of Cambridge said, “It's my mother's engagement ring, and it's very special to me, as Kate is very special to me now as well.
