Prince Harry Fights Back Tears at Queen’s Funeral as Fans Claim He Didn’t Sing National Anthem

The world mourned as the United Kingdom said goodbye to Her Majesty II.

The Queen's funeral was held today at Westminster Abbey, where members of the royal family gathered to pay their respects.

Among them was , who was seen fighting back tears during the emotional ceremony.

Dressed in a mourning suit with his medals attached, the Duke of Sussex walked into Westminster Abbey alongside his wife, .

However, fans watching the service at home suggested that Harry didn't sing the national anthem when it was played towards the end of the ceremony.

Taking to Twitter, fans expressed their concern that Harry wasn't singing during the emotional moment.

One person asked, “Harry didn't sing national anthem.

Is it me or did Harry and Meghan not sing the anthem?”

Another added, “Can't be the only one that noticed Harry didn't sign the national anthem.”

A third agreed, “I noticed that too.”

On the way to the funeral, the Duke of Sussex was seen looking sombre as he was driven in a Range Rover from Wellington Arch, down Constitution Hill and on the Mall towards St James's Palace.

The Queen Consort, the Duchess of Sussex, the Princess of Wales and the Countess of Wessex were seen looking sombre as the King and his siblings marched off.

The Queen's coffin was taken to Windsor, where a private interment service was held later in the evening with senior members of the royal family.

The Queen's final resting place will be the King George VI Memorial Chapel, an annex to the main chapel where her mother and father were buried, along with the ashes of her sister, Princess Margaret.

Prince Harry, who has seen active service in Afghanistan, wore a mourning suit and medals at the historic state funeral because only working royals are permitted to dress in uniform.

On Saturday, Prince Harry was given special permission to don his military colours for a lying-in state vigil staged by Her Majesty's grandchildren at Westminster Hall.

The Queen's eight grandchildren, including Harry and his brother , stood on Saturday evening in silence for a 15-minute vigil alongside Her Majesty's coffin.

Harry lost his honorary military titles after deciding to step down as a senior working royal with wife Meghan in 2020.

Last week, the Sussex spokesperson said that Prince Harry would wear a mourning suit throughout events honouring his grandmother.

His decade of military service is not determined by the uniform he wears and we respectfully ask that focus remain on the life and legacy of Her Majesty II, according to royal commentator and author Omid Scobie.
