Prince Harry’s Claim of Shopping at TK Maxx Debunked by Retailer

TK Maxx has hit back at 's claim that he would shop in their annual sale, as he said it's not something they even offer.

While there were several claims about members of his family in the book, Harry also made some bizarre comments about his shopping habits while growing up.

Writing in his new memoir, Harry revealed how despite receiving an official clothing allowance from his father, he would shop for his everyday casual clothes in TK Maxx.

He claimed to have a very specific system for his visits to the chain.

“I was particularly fond of their once a year sale when they'd be flush with items from Gap or J.Crew items that had just gone out of season or were slightly damaged,” Harry wrote.

“If you timed it right, got there on the first day of the sale, you could snag the same clothes that others were paying top prices for down the high street.

With 200 quid, you could look like a fashion plate.”

However, a spokesperson for TK Maxx has refuted this as they said, “Whilst we're delighted is a big fan, we thought that we should explain we don't actually have an annual sale.

Instead, we offer great value, style and savings all year round.”

Social media users were left bemused by the idea of the Prince shopping in a discount store with one person tweeting, “The thought of Prince Harry in TK Maxx during the sale rooting about for a pair of diesel jeans and Fred Perry shirts baffles me.

He's probably never set foot inside a TK Maxx in his life,” said another.

Others praised TK Maxx for quickly debunking Harry's lie, one person wrote.

“Kudos to TK Maxx's marketing team for moving on this so quickly and cleverly.

There are so many lies and inconsistencies in Harry's memoir.

They have all been debunked quickly.”

Harry claimed that Charles and 's press team told the press about William's alleged affair with Rose Hannabury.

However, this claim has been refuted by many sources, including KidSpot, who did an article in July 2022 about the gossip where even they said the story was untrue.

“If William was having an affair, Pippa wouldn't have given a daughter the same name as her brother-in-law's alleged mistress,” the article stated.

“Also, if the alleged affair was true, why didn't the information of Charles and leaking the story come out sooner?

Harry's trying to deflect blame away from Meghan by blaming the two people who had the most to lose, Charles and Camilla.”

Moreover, Catherine and Pippa are very close, and there's no way Pippa would sacrifice a bond with her older sister.

In the book, Harry also revealed that he didn't fundamentally believe in fashion when he was younger and would often buy his outfits for everyday wear from TK Maxx.

However, the retailer has confirmed their stores don't hold annual sales.

The Prince's claims have been met with skepticism, with many questioning whether he has ever actually shopped at TK Maxx.

The retailer's response has only added to the doubts surrounding Harry's story.

While the memoir has caused a stir, it seems that many of the claims made within its pages are being swiftly debunked.

It remains to be seen whether any of the more explosive allegations will be proven true, but for now, it seems that many are taking Harry's claims with a grain of salt.
