Prince Harry’s Multi-Million Dollar Netflix Deal: Was It A Faustian Pact?
Prince Harry is reportedly feeling a bit embarrassed after signing a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix.
The streaming giant recently released a filmed version of the Broadway musical, Diana, which tells the story of Harry's late mother's life.
It's the same company that signed up the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to a $100 million deal.
However, rumors have surfaced that Harry only took the deal because he was desperate for money, and this has reportedly horrified Netflix executives.
The Daily Mail's diary editor, Richard Eden, spoke to Palace Confidential about the situation.
He suggested that the bosses of Netflix are not happy about the claims that Harry only signed the deal due to financial desperation.

Eden said, “I think there is a fat chance of Harry and Meghan giving up their very lucrative Netflix deal.
It was a Faustian pact.”
Despite the negative rumors, Harry has remained silent on the matter.
Eden also explained that Harry has no control over what programs Netflix produces, and there may be some that he doesn't approve of.
This puts him in an awkward position and makes him feel embarrassed.
During an interview with James Corden earlier this year, Harry defended the crown, which is also produced by Netflix.
He said, “I'm way more comfortable with the crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife or myself.
Because it's the difference between fiction, take it how you will, and being reported on as fact because you're supposedly news.
I have a real issue with that.”
The Mail on Sunday's assistant editor, Kate Mancy, echoed Eden's sentiments, saying that the couple is in a bit of a bind because of their deal.
She added that the crown is much more damaging than the Diana musical.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that the British public is not missing anything by the musical not coming to the West End.
He added that it was another attempt to cash in on Princess Diana's memory.
Despite the criticism, it is unlikely that Harry and Meghan will give up their lucrative Netflix deal.
It remains to be seen what programs the streaming giant will produce that may put Harry in an awkward position.
However, Harry's defense of the crown suggests that he may be comfortable with the idea of producing fictionalized versions of royal events.
