Princess Charlotte to Inherit Priceless Tiara from Princess Diana’s Collection

, the six-year-old daughter of and , is set to inherit a priceless tiara from the late 's jewellery collection.

The tiara, which was worn by Lady Diana on her wedding day to in 1981, is said to be one of the most treasured pieces in the collection.

According to palace insiders, the Spencer tiara will go to Charlotte when she is old enough to care for it.

The tiara is partly made out of a wedding gift given in 1919 from Lady Sarah Spencer to Lady Cynthia Hamilton, Diana's grandmother, for her marriage to Viscount Althorp.

Other jewels belonging to the Spencer family were also used.

While some reports have claimed that the decision to give the tiara to Charlotte, rather than her cousin Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, is a snub, there is a simple reason – she's older.
