The mystery has been solved! Meghan Markle’s Baby Archie was born in this place.

The royal baby record has been formally corrected.

When the news of 's birth broke last week, one question remained unanswered: where had new mom given birth? The Duchess of Sussex and broke with tradition by keeping their preparations for their son's birth secret, saying they “look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had the opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

As a result, unlike and and and , who debuted their newborns on the steps outside of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital, the pair did not appear on the steps outside of the Lindo Wing, leaving a cloud of confusion about where the newest royal was born.

Some news said Markle gave birth at home, but according to Archie's recently published birth certificate, she gave birth at Portland Hospital, a private hospital in Westminster that specializes in women's and children's healthcare.

Other royals, including Harry's cousins and , were born at Portland Hospital. Victoria Beckham, who attended Meghan and Harry's wedding in May 2018, gave birth there as well.

On May 17, Harry registered the baby's birth. Aside from the hospital, the birth certificate states that the child was born on May 6. If you're curious about royal titles, 's is “Prince of the United Kingdom,” while Markle's is “Princess of the United Kingdom.”
