Meghan DEMANDS “A-List” roles on Hollywood return
Meghan Markle is enraged by B and C-list film roles.
Meghan Markle's roles as a “passenger on a plane” in A Lot Like Love and her blink-and-you'll-miss-it role in Horrible Bosses are unlikely to stick with you. Though the actress had a series of quickly forgettable parts prior to her breakthrough role as Rachel on Suits, you'd assume Hollywood executives will be lined up to sign her up for their new TV and film ventures now that she's a bona fide celebrity.
And no one believes this more than Meghan herself, according to sources, who was awaiting a platter of meaty roles when she and Prince Harry arrived in Los Angeles. Meg, on the other hand, hasn't had the Oscar-worthy opportunities she'd hoped for, so she's asking for favors to help her get into the major leagues.
“Meghan had really planned to get her pick of movie roles and other enticing offers,” says a source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who moved to LA two months ago with their one-year-old son Archie, shortly before the city was put on lockdown. “It suggests that some casting directors are suspicious of the harsh publicity that has followed her and Harry's decision to leave the royal family.
So far, she's been approached with opportunities to host her own daytime talk show, which she dismisses as “cringeworthy,” as well as guest appearances on a few small dramas, sitcoms, and reality shows. Yet she firmly maintains that she should only lend her name to prestigious ventures, such as the Disney documentary Elephants, which she narrated.”
Meghan was reasonably well-known in TV and film before marrying Harry, but despite her popularity on Suits, she had yet to become a household name – but a lot can change in four years, and she's now one of the most famous women in the world, with a royal husband and a love for charitable work.
