Queen was surprised by Meghan’s wedding dress choice

and married on May 19, 2018, in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, and it's been almost three years since their wedding.

We really can't get over the Duchess of Sussex's stunning wedding look, despite all the time that has passed and all that has transpired since then.

Many royal fans speculated about the designer and the type of gown she would wear on the big day for months before the event.

The Duchess of Sussex wore a Stella McCartney halterneck gown for her evening reception after walking down the aisle in an elegant, pure white sleeved gown designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy.

The Queen, however, was said to be bemused by Meghan's choice of dress, as white dresses are traditionally associated with purity and yet Meghan was divorced.

“The Queen is said to have expressed surprise that Meghan, a divorcee, wore quite such a white dress for her wedding,” a royal source told the Mail on Sunday.

The Queen had no issue with Meghan marrying into the British Royal Family despite the fact that she was divorced.

A white wedding gown has always been associated with purity, and after a woman had married and consummated the relationship, she was no longer expected to wear it because she had lost her virginity.

Meghan had already married once, so The Queen may have expected her to choose an off-white color for her wedding, such as champagne or soft pink.

Previously, the 39-year-old was married to Trevor Engelson, a film director, for two years.

They met in 2004, had a six-year engagement, and got engaged in 2010.

Their union, however, did not last long, and they divorced in 2013 due to “irreconcilable differences.”

Meghan's divorce was described as “out of the blue” in Andrew Morton's biography of Meghan, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess.
