Prince George and Princess Charlotte Participate in Queen Elizabeth’s Official Funeral Procession

The world was surprised when IX and VII, the two oldest children of the Prince and Princess of Wales, participated in 's official funeral procession.

Despite being known for their angelic manners, children in the royal family have been known to misbehave with one another from time to time.

According to My London, this exact thing happened at the funeral of their great-grandmother.

Last month, the Princess of Wales was accompanied by her son George and daughter Charlotte when the royal family bid their final goodbyes to II at the royal funeral and committal service.

Following the emotional send-off, the youngsters gathered with their parents at Wellington Arch to witness the Queen's casket being transferred to the State Hearst before being taken to Windsor.

Lip-reader Jeremy Freeman noticed George trying to pinch his sister as the entourage waited behind King Charles and senior royals.

The Princess is said to have yelled out in agony before turning to look at her sibling and saying, “Oww!”

Some royals, including , who smiled and cocked her head at the young royals, found the amusing dialogue between them amusing, according to My London.

However, the incident appeared to annoy Queen Consort , who was seen frowning and pointed at Charlotte before turning to Catherine and saying, “Take her!”

The brief exchange was caught on live television, and astute spectators immediately saw Charlotte and George's disagreement.

“Looks like and have a small disagreement.

Look at the Queen Consort ,” one tweeted.

“Why did Charlotte say when she turned back around it was wow?

Ow!

Cow!”

A second added.

According to other lip-readers, it wasn't the only cute exchange between the pair at the Arch.

At one point, Charlotte was reportedly seen mouthing something to George, with lip-readers decoding it as, “You need to bow!”

It seemed as though Charlotte was reminding her brother of royal protocol and informed him that he needed to bow as the coffin was driven past, and upon being told of his duty by his younger sister, George, who looked smart in a navy blue suit, nodded.

Despite the debate of the day, parenting experts praised Catherine for how she handled her two eldest children during the state funeral.

Raising Remarkable Teenagers creator and parenting expert, Angela Caranga said, “I think what's important is that Catherine did not just correct, i.e.

telling Charlotte to shh and be quiet at that pivotal moment, but she took time to connect.

Throughout the event, especially notably at the beginning, there were several moments of connection.

For example, at the beginning when the young daughter appeared nervous, Catherine leaned over and whispered something that evidently cheered her up.”

“We notice a lot of connection before correction, which is a powerful and positive parenting skill that I encourage a lot with parents,” she added.

“When we correct our young people after we've connected, this doesn't feel like an attack on their being because they already know you've got them and you love them.

But you are now addressing behaviour that is inappropriate and needs to stop.

Also, we didn't see Catherine telling Charlotte off angrily.

She did the correcting so matter-of-factly and swiftly, and as contained and concealed as she could in that public place.”

The three children of and Princess Catherine are accustomed to attending public royal occasions that are occasionally broadcast live on television.

They are typically well-behaved.

Last year, together with their parents, Prince George and Princess Charlotte are reportedly anticipated to attend King Charles III's coronation.

The two eldest, who are second and third in line to succession, are reportedly planning to use their anticipated presence at the coronation on May 6, 2023, as preparation for their future roles as senior royals.

The three were photographed waving to the fans when they attended the late sovereign's platinum jubilee in June on previous occasions.
