Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William Attend Royal Variety Performance
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended this year's Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall, where artists such as Ed Sheeran, Sir Rod Stuart, James Blunt, and Anne-Marie are all scheduled to perform.
Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, dazzled in a floor-length green Jenny Packham dress, covered in sequins, featuring long sleeves, and strategically placed crystals on the bodice, waist, and cuffs.
Prince William opted for a navy blue suit.
This is not the first time we have seen the Duchess of Cambridge in this stunning gown; she wore it during an official visit to Pakistan in 2019.
Meghan Markle Set to Appear on The Ellen Show
Hours before the Royal Variety Performance, Meghan Markle sat down with US comedian Ellen DeGeneres.
Trending:
Meghan wore a white £1,991 Oscar de la Renta blouse and black trousers, which one Twitter user compared to that worn by Ricky Ricardo in I Love Lucy.
Apparently, the blouse alone rings in at $1,775, according to PopShorga, though it appears to be out of stock.
The blouse has sleeves that billow at the elbow, with an elaborate cut-out pattern resembling a large flower.
However, the news of her appearance on The Ellen Show raised eyebrows just months after her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Meghan Pushes for Paid Family Leave
During her appearance on The Ellen Show, Meghan discussed her involvement in pushing for paid family leave, a cause seemingly close to the actress' heart.
Meghan told the 63-year-old chat show host, “I will do everything I can to make sure that we can implement that for people,” and by that, she means lobbying senators through sending unsolicited messages on the letterhead Duchess of Sussex.
It's interesting to note that Meghan now believes she's in a position to cold call elected officials and push for changes in law from a position of zero authority, albeit attempting to trade off her hollow Duchess title.
Meghan's New Children's Book, The Bench
Moving on from politics, the pair began to speak about Meghan's new book, The Bench, a children's book that she originally wrote for her husband.
Without going into too much detail, Meghan said, “It's just a sweet love story between a family,” safe to say it's not an autobiographical tale.
Meghan Wears Earpiece on The Ellen Show
The show cuts to a segment of Meghan wearing an earpiece with Ellen dictating what she should do and say, a role Harry is very familiar with.
The Duchess of Sussex dressed as a cat on one of America's biggest chat shows, as she pranced around the streets singing, “I'm a kitten, meow, meow, meow.”
With all due respect, it's important to note that every time Meghan uses her undeserved royal title, it's a dagger in the heart of the queen who has worked all her life to maintain an institution that takes itself and work seriously.
In conclusion, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Royal Variety Performance, while Meghan Markle sat down with Ellen DeGeneres to discuss her involvement in pushing for paid family leave and her new children's book, The Bench.
Meghan's appearance on The Ellen Show raised eyebrows, just months after her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
It will be interesting to see what Meghan's next move will be, but we hope that she will refrain from using her royal title for personal gain and instead focus on making a positive impact on the world.
