Prince Harry’s Ex-Girlfriend Cressida Bonas Finds His Complaints About the Royal Family Tiresome

Cressida Bonas, 's ex-girlfriend, found his endless complaints about the royal family tiresome, according to a new royal book from Tina Brown, author of biography The Diana Chronicles.

Ms. Brown claims that Cressida went as far as asking MI6 for advice on finding a suitable person.

There was long-standing tension between Harry and his brother , with the two having Olympic rose, she claims, because he thought William was hogging the best charities.

It is said that Cressida says that Harry's resentment towards the press meant that instead of going out and living the glamorous lives two wealthy twenty-somethings might enjoy, according to Ms. Brown.

She writes that there was tension between 's two sons long before Harry met , but that the former Suits actress's arrival in the young prince's life changed everything.

The author says the couple became drunk on a shared fantasy of being the instruments of global transformation who, once married, would operate in the celebrity stratosphere once inhabited by .

Notably, Cressida Bonas could be tempted into sharing her side of her romance story with ex-boyfriend if the Duke of Sussex mentions his former lover in his new memoir.

The actress was reportedly shocked to hear of the upcoming memoir, with the Daily Mail's Society columnist quoting a friend as claiming perhaps she'll be tempted to write about — the relationship — now.

Royal commentator Daniela Elza said that it was unlikely Cressida would make such a move, particularly given her relative silence on the couple's time together.

However, she argued, it raised a number of questions about the loyalty of those in his inner circle and whether they were ready to keep up their record of not telling tales.

Ms. Elza wrote, while the chances of this coming to pass are slim, given Cressida has been nothing but impressively discreet about her Harry romance, the very fact that this question is even being publicly pondered for the first time is noteworthy.

Just in case the possibility of his former friends becoming loose-lipped isn't enough of a worry, Harry's tell-all could also potentially see royal aides given the green light to hit back and to publicly talk about experiences working with Harry and Meghan.

Brown paints Harry as a troubled young man, damaged by his parents' bitter marriage and the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

His relationship with his father, , became strained after Parker Bowles entered the picture, and his personal demons caused his relationship with Cressida Bonas to fizzle out.

When he began dating Meghan, says Brown, Harry's family was worried about his obsession with the American actress and questioned her ability to adapt to the culture and protocols of royal life.

Sure enough, she says, Meghan was unwilling to accept her place in the family hierarchy.

Even before the engagement, she seemed to think that everyone in the shared office of William, Kate, and Harry was now hers to call in, says Brown.

What the palace saw as her willful blindness to institutional culture was a direct clash with Meghan's worldview.

The book goes on to detail Meghan's dissatisfaction with royal duties, which in turn made Harry less enthused about his role in the family.

Brown quotes sources who confirm past claims that Meghan bullied palace staff and caused scenes during her wedding planning.

Wanting a future as global ambassadors and philanthropists, the Sussexes reportedly weren't willing to wait until Meghan was more established within the palace.

Instead, Brown writes, they announced their Megxit plan to step down from their official duties, hoping the royal family would support them.

An insider told Brown, they thought, it would force the royal family to respond by saying, OK, Harry and Meghan, what do you want?
