Kate Middleton to Become Princess of Wales When Prince William Becomes King
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, will see her title change when her husband, Prince William, ascends to the throne.
Even though she will not become queen, she will adopt new titles.
She has held her title as the Duchess of Cambridge for over a decade.
As with all members of the Royal Family, status and titles undergo changes following the death of a royal, as seen following the death of Prince Philip.
Prince Charles is currently the Duke of Edinburgh, following the death of his father.
However, the title will pass to Prince Edward when Charles becomes King.

When Charles ascends to the throne, it is believed that his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will not hold the title of Queen at all.
Instead, she will be styled Princess Consort.
At that time, Kate, formerly Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge, will become the Princess of Wales, as is tradition and in honor of William's mother.
Kate's title also currently changes as she moves around the UK.
When in Scotland, she is Countess of Strathern, and in Northern Ireland, she is Lady Caricfergus.
But when William takes to the throne and becomes King, she will not officially become Queen.
Instead, she will be Queen Consort, indicating that she has no official power or constitutional role.
The last Queen Consort was Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, when her husband was King.
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle's dad has called for her to be stripped of her royal title after her latest appearance on US TV.
In the Ellen interview, Meghan talked about family life away from the UK and the royal family.
Making a guest appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Duchess of Sussex talked about a number of subjects, from her last wild night with Prince Harry before they were thrust into the spotlight to sharing photos of their children.
She also took part in a skit at a market stall where she decided to shop for crystals and perform bizarre acts, such as closing her eyes and holding a crystal to her head while chanting.
Mr. Markle said his family had been left embarrassed by the TV appearance.
He said, “She insulted the Queen, the royal family, and the British people.
She made a complete fool of herself and should lose her title.
I love my daughter, but her performance was ridiculous.”
In the studio, in front of a packed audience, Meghan talked of being a struggling actress in her 20s, doing auditions at a Los Angeles studio.
She said her car had faulty doors that meant she had to climb in and out via the boot.
Thomas said he even helped Paul Strings to get her a union card so she could find work.
He said, “I'm disappointed she didn't mention me.
I hooked her up with a director on the General Hospital TV show, and that got her a couple of lines on one of the shows which got her a union card.
It's really difficult to get a job without a card, so that was crucial.
I paid for the card too.
