Prince Harry Reveals He Still Panics When Bumping Into Queen Elizabeth II

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has revealed that he still panics when he bumps into his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

This revelation was made in a trailer for the new ITV series, Queen of the World, where the prince was filmed chatting with young people who want places on the Royal Household Caribbean Hospitality Scholarship Initiative.

In the trailer, Harry is seen telling the new recruits that they have spent more time in Buckingham Palace than he ever has, and they have only been there for two weeks.

He then asks them if they have bumped into the Queen yet and advises them not to panic if they suddenly bump into her in the corridor, as he knows they will, saying, “We all do.”

The new documentary, which is an eye-opening two-part programme, also features Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, in her first television interview as a Royal.

In the interview, she discusses taking over Her Majesty's responsibilities in the Commonwealth and expresses her excitement at the prospect of visiting 53 countries, saying, “Oh my goodness, it will keep us busy.”

Meghan also talks about her wedding day and the elaborate veil she wore, which was embroidered with flowers from each of the 53 Commonwealth nations, as well as two personal favorites: a California poppy and winter sweet.

The veil is now being prepared for a new exhibition at Windsor Castle starting in October.

The first part of Queen of the World will also see the Princess Royal being interviewed about her first trip on the Royal Yacht Britannia in the 1950s, when she and the Prince of Wales were put to work scrubbing and polishing.

It is also revealed that the Queen had to re-record her Christmas broadcast after bird noise interrupted filming.

The documentary makers were given access to private home movies and the programme shows the role played by the Royal Yacht Britannia in the Queen's early tours of the Commonwealth.

The series examines the head of state's role as a global figure and the baton she is passing on to younger members of the Royal Family as they continue to strengthen ties with the family of nations.

Harry, who is now a Commonwealth youth ambassador, has spoken about how his wife will join him in his work, which will see them begin a major Commonwealth tour in October.

The new recruits on the Royal Household Caribbean Hospitality Scholarship Initiative will undoubtedly have the opportunity to meet the couple during their tour.

The Queen of the World documentary also features other members of the Royal Family, including the Duchess of Cambridge, who talks about her passion for photography and her patronage of the National Portrait Gallery.

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince Charles, and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, are also featured in the programme.

The first part of Queen of the World will be screened on September 25 at 9.
