Prince Harry Sings King George III’s Song from Hamilton at Charity Performance

delighted the cast of Hamilton with his impromptu performance during a charity event in London.

The Duke of Sussex sang the opening lines of You'll Be Back, a song performed by his ancestor King George III in the hit hip hop musical.

The cast applauded wildly as Harry began his speech with a joke after the special performance of the show, which is currently playing in Victoria, London.

Hamilton is a biography of US founding father Alexander Hamilton, with King George III portrayed as one of the more comical characters in the musical.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the show's creator, teased about his relation to the former British monarch.

Ahead of the show, Miranda said it would be fun and surreal to see Harry and Meghan watch the extravagant, pompous King character.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the gala performance put on in support of Harry's charity Centervale.

They were welcomed by Miranda and his wife Vanessa before taking their seats in the theatre's Royal Circle.

After the public had left, they went on stage to share their appreciation for the performance with the cast, including the man who played the King.

Meghan praised the energy of the night, stating that every moment was engaging.

Harry also expressed his admiration for the show, describing it as “absolutely incredible”.

The couple had already seen the musical before, having been on a secret date shortly after announcing their engagement.

Centervale, which Harry founded with Prince Cicero of Lesotho after the Duke's gap year there, aims to improve prospects for children and young people affected by HIV in southern Africa.

Nearly £300,000 was raised through ticket sales and donations for the charity during the gala performance.

The play's portrayal of King George III has received critical acclaim, with the character poking fun at the monarch's eccentricities and his strained relationship with the American colonies.

Harry's performance of You'll Be Back was a fitting tribute to his ancestor's role in the show.
