Prince Harry’s Popularity Takes A Hit Following Controversial Interviews

has been facing a wave of backlash from both British and American citizens following a series of controversial interviews with American media.

This comes after his bombshell interview alongside , which saw a drop in support among the public.

In recent weeks, Harry's popularity has taken a further nosedive in both the UK and the US.

Charlie Ray, former Royal Editor at The Sun, told TalkRadio that “This guy was a hero in Britain and now he is the zero, I'm afraid.

His popularity has gone right down.”

A recent poll showed that 54% of people just wished he would shut up.

The radio host Kevin O'Sullivan also responded, saying that “the popularity polls for him and Meghan on both sides of the Atlantic are plummeting.

He made the serious mistake a couple of weeks back of questioning America's sacred First Amendment — which is about freedom of speech.

Americans do not take kindly to interlopers who turn up in their country and criticize it.”

Harry has faced an awful lot of criticism within America, with many Americans taking offense at his comments about the First Amendment.

Mr. Ray cited a new poll for Newsweek which showed that more than half of Britons want to hear less from and .

A total of 54% said they would prefer to hear less about the couple compared to 18% who wanted to hear more.

Around 39% of respondents said they disapprove of Prince Harry speaking publicly about his royal upbringing, compared to 36% who approved.

There has also been a significant backlash in the US, after Harry called the First Amendment “bonkers” during a podcast with Dax Shepard.

Sean Hannity, who anchors the third biggest evening news show in the US, launched into a tirade, calling him a “right royal pain in the a**.”

Amber Athey, Washington editor of the Spectator US, told Good Morning Britain that “The UK is one of the top ten exporters to the US.

As an American, in the words of former President Donald Trump, you all are not sending your best.

I would beg you, please take Prince Harry back.”

The View co-host Meghan McCain also tweeted, “We fought a war in 1776 so we don't have to care what you say or think.

That being said, you have chosen to seek refuge from your homeland here and thrive because all of what our country has to offer and one of the biggest things is the First Amendment.

Show some utter respect.”

In the wake of the interview back in March, 44% of Americans did not have much sympathy for Harry and Meghan's decision to leave the royal family, compared to 40% who did.

Negative opinions of the couple also jumped up in the US with Prince Harry's unfavorable ratings rising 9 points compared with a year ago, 17% to 26%, while negative ratings of Meghan Markle rose 10 points, 23% to 33%, according to YouGov polling.

It remains to be seen how Harry and Meghan will respond to this backlash, but it is clear that their recent interviews have not been well-received by the public.
